Inner Game Hacks From The Buddha

Buddha, mind, body, finances, relationships, holistic life coaching, sweat nation,

I’m not a dogmatic person. However, in the past year, I’ve found myself knee-deep in the study of all the major(trending) ideologies/religions, and if there’s one that has resonated with me the most… It’s been the Buddhist.

Some say that Buddhism is more than a religion – it’s a lifestyle.

You can pretty much sum the ideas up like this:

1. Live a moral life.

2. Be mindful and aware of your thoughts and actions.

3. Develop wisdom and understanding.

How's that sound? Let's call these the 3 commandments. It’s the only ideology that I've come across that focuses on a deep understanding of the human mind, as most Buddhist teachings are there to help “liberate” you from the perils and suffering caused by the mind… After all, it's the stories that we tell ourselves that cause us the greatest angst.

But this isn’t a post about ideologies…I’ve been on a bit of a search for enlightenment lately, reading lots of eastern & western philosophies… The great courses have been my go-to, as they have a whole set of lectures going into all the major religions/ideologies.

I can’t help but draw a connection between the teachings of the Buddha, and the main principles that for some reason I'm drawn to. With that, I’m going to drop some Inner Game hacks, brought to you by the Buddha.

Lesson #1:

The mind is everything. What we think, we become.

This is self-explanatory. Your beliefs control your thoughts which control your actions which control your life.

What have you been occupying your mind with lately?

Lesson #2

You deserve YOUR love and affection.

This is the foundation of inner peace & confidence. Positive self-talk, and self-love.

It’s about muting that part of yourself that defaults to why everything is such a barrier to entry and becoming your number one supporter and fan. It’s about killing those confidence issues and feelings of “I’m not ____ enough”

If you don’t love yourself, don’t expect anyone else to love you either…#relationship enlightenment

Lesson #3

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate on the present moment. There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth --- not going all the way, and not starting.

Mindfulness, and being present is extremely important for your happiness, and the quality of the work you do, and the life you live.

It's such an interesting dilemma that we naturally are always thinking about what's happened or what may happen. The present time is the only guarantee we have, and for us to spend the least of our time paying attention to what's guaranteed is a part of humanity that definitely needs more study.

Lesson #4

However many holy words you read, however many you speak, what good is it if you do not act upon them? Ideas, without execution, are useless. Knowledge without application is futile

Whatever it is you’re focused on, just start, and stop stopping.

Lesson #5

To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one’s family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one's own mind. Everything you do and everything you stem from the belief systems deep in your mind. Control these, rewrite the narrative, and you change your life forever.
